A patient advocate at our ER in Lake Jackson provides you with support and peace of mind. At the same time, a patient advocate upholds your rights when involved with the healthcare system. Not to mention, they can assist with navigating the complicated process of handling your payments through your insurance provider. Our Patient Advocate division is made up of wonderful and caring people. They will assist you and your family in understanding the intricate elements involved with your visit to the emergency room.
Altus Emergency Center will help you and your family navigate through all of the aspects of your visit to our centers by working with experienced doctors and skilled nurses to get through the bureaucratic jargon spoken by insurance companies.
During a crisis, patient advocates can help resolve issues and grumbles regarding our services, communicate with our physicians, and raise your awareness surrounding patient rights and receiving the care you deserve. Of all of these services, most of our patients find the help we offer to ensure that they’re treatment is covered by their health insurance incredibly helpful.
We know that it is hard to understand language from insurance companies when they send you your bills, so our patient advocates are there to help work with you and our physicians to cut through red tape on your behalf. It’s important to remember that we are here to assist you throughout your emergency room visit, and even afterward. A successful patient advocate department helps all of our staff run effectively and according to our mission of saving lives.
Fighting for You
The Patient Advocate Department at Altus continues to work on your behalf even after you leave our care centers. They review all EOB (Explanation of Benefits) sent to us by insurance companies to make sure that you were covered correctly. They can also help you with financial arrangement, hardships, and assistance.
It is our job to make sure your emergency care goes as smoothly as possible, and that includes mediating between insurance companies and our patients. We will even make sure that claims are processed correctly, and that you are treated fairly and honestly. No one is fully prepared during an emergency.
